Philly, Sisterhood, and the First Slightly Bougie Sale
Philly has always had a special place in my heart—the culture, the energy, and the way the city embraces you like family. But this trip? This trip was different. It was a full-circle moment.
Tifa, who I met during my time in corporate America, was my very first customer. Three years ago, she started a small, intimate gathering—the Black Women & Luxury Slumber Party—bringing together a personal network of powerful Black women to celebrate success, rest, and the joy of sisterhood. When she decided to include Slightly Bougie socks in this year’s event, it wasn’t just a sale. It was a moment.
Tifa and I learned some of the hardest business lessons together in those corporate rooms. The foundation of how I operate today—resilience, strategy, and knowing my worth—was built in those experiences. To see her create a space where Black women can pour into themselves, and to have Slightly Bougie be part of that, was surreal.
And Philly? Y’all showed up for me in ways I’ll never forget. The love, the feedback, the way my girls embraced this brand—it confirmed everything I already knew. This isn’t just about socks. It’s about community, comfort, and showing up as our best selves. And trust me, this is just the beginning.
